Romance Writers of Australia has so much to offer, it can be quite overwhelming for new members. To help those new to RWA find their way around the organisation they are invited to join the New Member Liaison program. This program assigns new members an Advisor, who will answer all questions relating to RWA for up to 3 months. Full details are provided when you join.
Testimonials
Joining the New Member's Liaison scheme has helped me ease into a new world that contains an overwhelming amount of information. My Liaison was lovely, helpful and encouraging; she'd ‘been there, done that' and is generous enough to be happy to share her knowledge and help a newbie along.

The Romance Writers of Australia NML Scheme is extremely innovative. I have never felt so welcomed nor had so much advice provided from any other writing organisation I have joined. My advisor provided me with countless ‘signposts' for the provision of information which has been invaluable in my quest to write a novel. I had no idea there was so much support out there for the aspiring novelist. I can highly recommend the NML scheme as one of the best I have ever had the pleasure to encounter.
The RWA is the friendliest and most well-organised association I
have ever dealt with. Having been a member of lots of other organisations
I expected the usual not-very-satisfactory member experience, but
I found something completely different. It's been an amazing eye-opener.
The best thing about the NML scheme is that feels welcoming, as if
a new member is sincerely welcome and valued. I can't begin to tell
you how much of a difference that makes!
I found having an advisor when I joined RWA was worthwhile. It
meant any questions I wanted to ask were promptly answered in a considered
email. I felt welcomed to RWA in a personal way. I did not need to
email my advisor many times but she was always willing to take time
away from her valuable writing time to answer my question. Also my
advisor sent emails to keep in touch. She was interested in my work
which I appreciated. If you are thinking about joining RWA and are
considering having an advisor I would recommend you do so.
